This is Abrar Ahmed Apu, well-known as Triple A. I have been playing a role of Assistant Professor in the Department of Textile Engineering in Daffodil International University(DIU), situated in Dhaka, Bangladesh since October 2008.

My teaching areas cover- Technical Textiles, Sustainable Textile Manufacturing Management, Textile Environment & Compliance, Fabric Manufacturing Technology, Application of Computer in Textiles, and Textile Global Investment & Trade. I do choose thesis/project students who like to do out door research works.

Along with teaching, I have been representing Institute for Market Ecology (IMO)’- a Swiss based the most experienced International Professional Certifier for inspection, certification and quality assurance of sustainably produced products worldwide, as Country Representative in Bangladesh. I advise Textile and Clothing industry on sustainable development and implementation such as GOTS, Organic Exchange, FairTrade, ,Social Management (SA8000) Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2008) and more

Plus, as ‘Technical Team Leader’ for Bangladesh Textile Today, mostly circulated monthly textile and clothing magazine in Bangladesh, advise and lead research team.

I have several years of experience for working American and Canadian buyers as agents, namely Savante Inc. and Sinoskey Corporation respectively.

My basic education covers ‘Textile-Clothing Technology’ from Bangladesh University of Textiles, Dhaka, Bangladesh and higher education is in the same stream from Niederrhein University, Moenchengladbach, Germany. I completed MSc in Textile and Clothing with master’s thesis (Masterarbeit) for United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in January 22, 2008. My supervising teachers were Prof. Dr. Herald Engels, Narrow Fabrics Boss; and Prof. Dr. Gerrit Heinemann, Chairman of Textile-Clothing Trade and Management Department of Niederrhein University. Prof. Dr. Marie-Louise Klotz, ex-Dean of Department of Textile and Clothing Technology of the university was mentor of the thesis work. This Thesis was accepted and published by German publishing house ‘VDM Verlag Dr. Müller’ world wide with book-titling ‘ Integrating Handloom-Weavers into Bangladeshi RMG Production Chain: Proposed Integrating Methods, Strategies, and Policies’. As Master’s student in Germany, I got opportunities to meet Textile-Clothing’s best educationists in the Europe, might be in the world and obtained important lessons in the same sector.  Opportunities to visit Frankfurt Techtextil exhibition several times and ITMA Munich 2007 were biggest windows to enter and understand Global Textile-Clothing scenario. Visiting neighboring countries namely- Netherlands, Belgium, France and United Kingdom have also included global experiences in my life. Thanks to HS Niederrhein for creating such opportunities in my life.

I was interviewed by international research organization based in UK, as ‘Textile-Garment Expert from Bangladesh’. My interview was used to prepare a report on Bangladesh Garment Value Chain by CBI (Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries), an Agency of the Netherlands.
